core after school programming

Education

Bridging the gap between school and home to improve reading skills, obtaining future success through small group study hall programing that builds self esteem, improves concentration, builds stronger memory skills and expands vocabulary.

Health & Wellness

Improving health and the ability to learn and grow by providing snacks and meals that are very often not available at home. Better nutrition allows students to concentrate, maintain a healthier weight and to move their focus from hunger to learning.

Youth Sports

Team sports participation teaches real life skills that include coping with loss, developing conflict resolution skills and team building. Studies also show a reduced risk for substance use in young people who play sports.

Mentoring

Youth from disadvantaged backgrounds are twice as likely to attend college when they have a mentor. For those who have experienced discrimination, family stressors, are less likely to break the law or engage in substance abuse when mentored.

Mentoring

The program is also designed to build on mentoring from those both in the program including other students and coaches and to introduce students to members of the community.

Weekly presentations on real life careers, tools, skills and experiences will be presented unfiltered. We are committed to providing resources to students whenever needed.
